The company was founded in the early 1930s when a young man from Ascona, Guido Pancaldi (a well-known judge for the "Games Without Borders” competitions), developed a passion for pyrotechnics and began selling fireworks in the town.

Two decades ago the business passed into the hands of brothers Andrea and Luca Colombo who continue to carry on the operation with great dedication and professionalism.

La Pirotecnica Sagl Colombo focuses on the preparation and staging of firework displays and sells a range of fireworks in the run-up to Swiss National Day (August 1st). Upon request, we organize large firework displays and musical pyrotechnic shows on both land and water for any type of event or occasion.

Among the highlights of our past productions are the annual " Luci & Ombre" event (one of the largest in Switzerland staged by a single company) providing an extravagant 35-minute display of rockets launched from 24 rafts, and firework displays commissioned for New Year’s Eve festivals and National Holidays in Lugano, Ascona, Bellinzona, Morcote, Loëx, San Bernardino, etc...

Past productions include: Geneva Lake Festival, Gipsy Kings, Crossair/Swissair, Alinghi America's Cup, Gotthard (rock band), Riri SA, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, V-Zug AG, etc...

Today the company is modernized and comprised of a close-knit technical staff that plans the various pyrotechnic combinations to achieve increasingly sophisticated and detailed creations enabling us to offer exciting productions in complete safety.
